Membership

2009 membership is 163 individual members; 125 households; net change of +6 individuals and +4 households.:

Treasurer:.

Corus Bank has been acquired by MB Financial; nothing has changed in the club’s account; we have no outstanding expenses. Compared with one year ago, the club has slightly increased account balances.

The Board voted to appoint Stellie Freedman to be one of three Members at Large..

Banquet Report – Paula reported the location is Yanni’s (10 E. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005), same as last year, November 14 at 6:30 p.m. beginning with appetizers and choice of 5 entrees: salmon, lamb, chicken, beef kapob, and vegetarian plate with unlimited soft drinks and coffee. There will also be assorted pastries for desert. Cost per person will be $20 for members and $40 for non-members. The Board voted and approved these costs (the member cost includes a club subsidy of about $18 per person). Program is TBD. A toy collection (new only, no stuffed animals) will be held in anticipation of the Amlings Toy Ride in December. Donations will also be accepted.

.Topic: ride sign up sheet vs. membership form. There is a slight difference in the disclaimer. We have been advised to make them consistent. One of the inconsistencies is the club name. It needs to be changed with the state, the federal government, and the bank. Mitch will file the necessary paperwork with the state to begin the process. We will also have legal review of the disclaimer by the attorney recently engaged by the club. Chris will initiate this contact.

Al read a letter from Dave Martin regarding a plan to automate the Bike Swap purchase process. More details and discussion are needed with Dave present. Next year’s Swap will be 4/24/10.

A Jersey redesign was discussed. We will develop a list of potential artists for consideration. Different vendors will be considered on the basis of cost and quality. We will ask Laurie Larson to chair a task force, assisted by Stellie Friedman.

Programs: Nancy Warren of EBC has a presentation on her trip to Japan; possible topic for October meeting.  Joe Reichert of Amlings would like to speak on recumbent bicycles. Northwest Nordic Ski club will present at the January. (Note: no club meetings are held in the months of November and December.)

Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
